After a week in Galveston we were heading back out of town and wanted to eat somewhere off the Seawall, bit we had our dog in tow. It was nice to know that JCS was dog friendly. So we chose to eat here. They placed us in the patio area. We asked for water for our dog and they were ready with a water bowl. The outside area was too hot but expected. Wish they had outdoor fans. It's never easy to eat in the heat. Food was great and service was ok. Appears the patio area is shared amongst the staff.

Happy hour is from 3-6 and 9-close. The voodoo chicken is AMAZING. The batter is perfect and isn’t spicy. The bbq sauce that comes with it isn’t good. We came during happy hour so the fried pickles were only $3 and came with about 20 pickle slices (I only had 2 left before we took a photo!) the crab stuffed mushrooms were $5 and came with three mushroom. They were pretty good. The voodoo chicken bites came with quite a few for $4. We also got the great balls of fire for $5. The mushrooms and chicken were the best!

I was there about three weeks ago it was a Thursday a family and my family got together we sat inside near the playground door. I ordered crab nachos I'm not sure if the white part was supposed to be coagulated but it was cold when it came out so I'm not sure if the cheese crab part was supposed to be solid or melted. It tastes funny so I did not finish. While commenting on this I feel disgusted. I remember when we walked in the door I walked up to the second podium they had told me they were closing the bar down because staff was sick. Awkward experience for me! I remember earlier they're closing bar down bartender sick. I woke up in the middle of night Very sick!!!!! I didn't go to work next day! Thursday wasn't busy so the food must have been sitting. Haven't been sick in years;(

Had a great experience. Shanice was our server and she was full of answers to our questions and offered great suggestions. Checked on us several times. Food was good and came in a timely fashion. We had planned to eat at one of the local seafood restaurants but chose Joe's because they have a play scape and our kids needed to run around after a day of travel!

Ridiculous. Waited 40 minutes to receive drinks, got food before the drinks. Drinks arrived and we did not know what they were, they were all identical in looks but all different drinks. Drinks were remade and still did not arrive until after the food. Drinks not comped. Foreign staff claimed to not understand requests and argued when we tried to explain. Then continued to serve the table behind us flawlessly and with no trouble understanding explanations. Manager called my friend a racist for letting them know our foreign waitress was having trouble understanding our order. New waitress was wonderful. Be wary of foreign staff.
